1933 WEST POINT HOWITZERUnited States Military Academy Graduating from the USMA less than a decade before WWII, the 347 graduates of 1933 served in important mid-level commands and positions during World War II. A very high percentage of the class retired as General Officers including four at 4-star rank and 10 Lt. Gens, The class also included William Darby of Darby’s Rangers fame and Joe Stillwell, Jr, son of the WWII General and a General Officer in his own right in Vietnam. The Howitzer opens with an unusual series of 8 photographs of West Point buildings in deep snow. Cadets graduating in 1933 (with 1/4 page photo and write-up each; cadet rank and activities shown in parenthesis) include: Harold K. In addition, the following have photos in this howitzer: Franklin D. Roosevelt, President George H. Dern, Secretary of War General Douglas MacArthur, Chief of Staff of the Army MG William D. Connor, Superintendent LTC Robert C. Richardson, Commandant Cover is in Very Good condition with minimal rubbing. Only marks are inside front free page which contains gift inscription by Lafer (Lipscomb – Class of 1933) and his signature next to his photo.
