This has been one of my favorite reference books on carousels..The author is Frederick Fried (pronounced 'freed') original c 1964 and re-issued 1978 ..It's filled with black&white photos as well as some color plates...231 pages..Fried begins with the evolution of the carousel up through to what many of us think remember from childhood.. The book is in good used condition.. pages are all good.. the dust jacket does show age and wear..I have owned this approx 30yrs and enjoyed reading through it many times..
