This beautiful volume contains artwork by the young master Russian artist, Nikolai Blokhin. It is a hardbound book of his paintings and sketches plus a brief biography of Blokhin and Russian art. The book contains an introductory essay by Russian art historian Galina Tuluzakova who has a Ph.D. in Art History and was a Fullbright Scholar in 2003.There are 108 pages in this book. There are approximately 104 color plates, most of the color plates are of Blokhin's oil paintings which are of interest to any oil painter and Russian art history. The book contains photos of Blokhin's work as early as 1995. There are also some photos of Blokhin's family, his students at the Repin Academy in 2007, his studio in St. Petersburg in Russia in 2007, museum photos, and his exclusive agent, Val Botcharov. Included in the book are approximately 12 black and white/sepia toned photos of Blokhin's sketches.There is a photo and a close up view of the Best of Show Award, "Profile, 2004" International Portrait Society of America, Boston 2004. |
